Upon arrival at Bangkok Airport, be warmly welcomed and picked up, then transferred to hotel in the center for check-in. Take your first-hand exploration of city on your own and overnight at hotel in Bangkok.
After breakfast, heading to Khao Yai.
Your first stop is to visit Klang Don Fruit Market, this market covers many kinds of local products, fruits and vegetables.
Next, visit Khao Yai National Park, Thailand’s first national park. Opened in 1962 and considered today as one of the most beautiful, Khao Yai is a World Heritage Site because of the variety of its fauna and flora.
Prepare your own lunch.
Walk through the park on Haew SuWat Waterfall Trail.
Back to your hotel and overnight stay.
Breakfast at the hotel, depart to Korat – “Nakhon Ratchasima”.
Stop at the Dan Kwian Pottery Village, a rural town set along Moon River with pottery studios, shops and museums line the streets of Dan Kwian.
On the way to Korat, stop at the memorial of Thao Suranari (Lady Mo) built for a woman who fought the Laotian invasion in the 19th century.
Having lunch in Korat and check-in at the hotel.
In the afternoon, head north to Ban Prasat, one of the oldest cities in the country.
Next, visit Phimai Historic Site and the magnificent Prasat Hin as well as Sai Ngam and its giant ficus.
Back to Korat and enjoy your overnight stay.
Having breakfast and head out to Buriram.
Visit Prasat Phanom Rung, one of the best preserved Khmer remains in Thailand.
Visit Muang Tham, another Khmer building, located near a large artificial lake dug time to be a water reserve for the community.
Enjoy lunch on your own and continue your trip to Surin.
Visit National Museum (closed on Mondays and Tuesdays), where presents many pieces retracing the history of the region since prehistoric times, and gives information on the multitude of ethnicities who live there today: the Khmer (heiress minority, often unknowingly, a people who possessed the Southeast Asia 1000 years ago), Suays and Laos, each with a language, traditional clothing and distinct customs.
Overnight stay in Surin.
After having breakfast, visit Ban Kwao Sinarin Village.
Stop at Ban Sam Kho Village, a traditional and totally unknown to tourists, discover the unchanged life. Silk fabrics are produced in almost all homes (or rather “under” houses built on stilts), this is one of the best places to offer you a cheaper “Pha Mai” (Silk Thai) fabric, producer to the consumer.
Visit Prasat Sikhoraphum Temple, its 5 towers and its central chedi which is the place for the locals to worship.
Head out to Kamphaeng Yai and visit this little-known Khmer site. Dating from the 11th century, it consists of 6 buildings.
Discover sculptures of Hindu deities Shiva and Vishnu on the lintels as well as inscriptions in Khmer. Every year in March, an important celebration of the Khmer community is held there.
In the afternoon, continue to Kong Jiam City, located on the majestic Mekong, the eighth largest river in the world and the third largest in Asia. Originally from Tibet, crossing China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.
Overnight in Kong Jiam.
After having breakfast at the hotel, depart to Mukdahan, border town with Savannakhet in Laos. Take a walk to the lively and colorful market, where locals sell and exchange products Laotian, Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese.
Mukdahan has become a staging area for who visit Savannakhet in Laos.
Enjoy your lunch and continue your way to Nakhon Phanom.
Visit the most important temples of the region, Wat Phra That Phanom, built in a purely Laotian architecture.
Stop over to visit Ban Na Chok Village where Ho Chi Minh lived from 1923 to 1929.
Arrive Nakhon Phanom, hotel check-in on the Mekong River and enjoy your overnight stay.
Having breakfast and depart to Sakhon Nakhon, where you will discover the Buddist ceremony, attaches to your wrist by monks, a sign of merits and omens, the opportunity to make a wish.
Visit the Ban Chiang Traditional Pottery Village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992.
Then, visit Dong Yen Bamboo Weaving Village and Baan Pulu Pottery Painting Village.
Stop for lunch at a local restaurant on the way, then transfer to Udon Thani.
Visit Talay Bua Daeng Lake – “Red Sea of the Lotus”. From December to February, a lake is covered with red lotus flowers between December to February.
You will enjoy a pleasant boat trip in the heart of the “Red Sea”.
Overnight in Ubon Thani.
Enjoy your breakfast and depart to the Orchid Farm. The owner of this farm gave birth to a variety of endemic orchids with a delicate scent in 1977: Udon Sunshine.
Continue to Nong Khai, a small border town with Laos.
Visit Sala Kaew Ku, a park with sculptures inspired by Buddhism and Hindu deities, some of which are 25 meters high.
Visit the Tha Sadet Market, discover Indochina’s products and crafts trade with Laos.
In the afternoon, return to Udon Thani for your flight to Bangkok.
